The week began with President Trump attending the Army's 250th-anniversary celebration and a military parade on June 14th. This coincided with "No Kings" protests across the U.S., criticizing the President's policies.
On the foreign policy front, tensions surrounding Iran took center stage. On June 15th, CNN reported that President Trump rejected an Israeli plan to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Just a day later, on June 16th, the President announced he would leave the G7 summit early to monitor escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. By June 20th, CNN reported that diplomacy with Iran could "easily" be restarted if President Trump ordered Israel to cease its strikes. Protests also erupted in Tehran against Israeli strikes and the Trump administration's policies.

Further complicating matters, the administration was reportedly considering expanding the travel ban to include as many as 36 additional countries. Thousands of National Guard and Marine Corps troops were deployed to Los Angeles amid growing immigration protests.
